We're set on finding new treatments, offering the highest level of support and driving urgent change. And we're doing it right now. Because we understand that when you, or someone you love, is diagnosed with a brain tumour a cure really can't wait.
The story -
Just over 2 years ago I/we lost Gareth. An old school/rugby mate, despite losing touch during his battle we reconnected. His story and characteristics from that moment changed who I am today.
Sadly I didn't get chance to meet up with him, but did get to meet his incredible children Brynley and Seren and his family and friends. It is they who sent out the open invitation to support them on their hike. I had to make it happen. They instill all those characteristics Gareth portrayed and want to give back with their huge hearts to the The Little Solders charity who have supported them over these years.
Fast forward to January this year and this disease/illness struck closer to home when sadly I/we lost a colleague and good friend in Owen. His determination and zest for loving each day oozed out and he continued to reach and impact the hearts of so many from the children he taught to those who had the pleasure of meeting him.
In both their resilience, determination and light will continue to drive my way of life.
Thank you to those close to Gareth and Owen who gave me their blessing to try and raise in their memory and try to help the charity who supported them so much.
