The Shortroods Young Men’s Group was established in 2024 to create a safe haven for the young men of Shortroods and the surrounding area. This group meets fortnightly at The STAR Project in Paisley, where they engage in fun activities such as playing game consoles, pool, and card games, all while enjoying delicious home-cooked meals or takeaways. More importantly, it provides a confidential and non-judgmental space for them to discuss any issues or topics they may be facing.

In addition to our regular meetings at The STAR Project, we have ventured into outdoor activities like fishing and have even spent time with the Polar Bear Club, experiencing the invigorating benefits of cold water therapy. These experiences are not just about having fun; they are about building resilience and hope among these young men.

On March 29th, 2026, I will be participating in a personal sky dive to raise funds for our group. My goal is to raise £1,000 to continue providing these young men with adventures and outings that create lasting positive memories.
