In memory of My mother, her pets and my past and present pets

London Marathon 2025 · 27 April 2025 ·

We aim to never turn away a dog or cat in need of help, caring for them until their owners or loving new homes can be found, no matter how long it takes. We are champions for, and supporters of, vulnerable dogs and cats, determined to create lasting changes for animals in our society.

Story

After becoming a Running Leader at my local running club, Swad Joggers, and seeing my friends run half marathons and marathons and particularly the London Marathon, I decided to apply to Battersea for a charity place in the London marathon in the hope I could give something back to a charity that is extremely close to my heart. In August 2024 I received an email to confirm I could support Battersea in the 2025 London marathon. I feel very honoured and very lucky to be able to support Battersea in the 2025 London Marathon. It will be an amazing experience to be part of this magnificent event and to be able to help this fantastic organisation. I have two dogs that are a massive part of mine and my families lives. One of my dogs we rescued from a dogs home. She is a Staffie cross who was being bullied by her bigger father and brothers. We rescued her and she now enjoys a wonderful life with us. It is a great feeling to have rescued her from a life of misery. My second dog is a beautiful Huntaway. Whilst I start my 16 week training plan I am asking everybody to please donate to my Battersea Charity page. It would make the training and marathon so worthwhile if we could collect enough money to make a difference to some poor animals lives.

Battersea Statement.

Battersea will always be here for every dog and cat.

Battersea takes dogs and cats in, gives them the expert care they need and finds them new homes that are just right for them.

They help pet owners make informed choices, provide training advice, and campaign for changes in the law.

And they help other rescue centres and charities at home and abroad because they want to be here for every dog and cat, wherever they are, for as long as they need Battersea.
