Story

MIKEYS CHARITY CHALLENGE

This year I need your help to not only raise awareness of mental health but to also raise £1500 so we can help train more mental health peer to peer support counsellors.

I’ve set myself a huge challenge, I am not an athlete! I am a 56-year-old overweight normal guy, so I won’t lie to you this is going to be very tough for me.

I am going to run 1500 miles in a year, I will be attempting half marathons full marathons and ultra marathons, and I would love you to come on the journey with me, as I really need your support.

You can follow my journey on Instagram #mikeyscharitychallenge please give me a follow 😊

The global and UK statistics for male suicide are at an all-time high and everyone’s mental health in general is poor, we are all under a lot of strain and we just don’t talk enough about this.

As a veteran I have served in many campaigns in my military career and I have suffered from PTSD, being a rough tough soldier, I never spoke about it, this came back to haunt me, and the darkness nearly won the battle.

I want us all to have someone to reach out to, somewhere that is comfortable for everyone to talk and not feel alone.

Who dares cares are a fantastic charity who not only listen and care about military or ex-military personnel but all blue light services and their families, the people at who dares cares understand because most of them have been through the darkness themselves, they help so many but really need your help and funds to continue to their support. Thank you.
