Story
I will be participating in the Malin to Mizen cycle on September 14th - 17th to raise funds for Cystic Fibrosis Ireland.
Ireland has the highest incidence of Cystic Fibrosis in the world – approximately 1 in 19 Irish people are said to 'carry' one copy of the altered gene that causes Cystic Fibrosis.
The Malin2Mizen Cycle4CF, has raised an unbelievable €625,000 for Cystic Fibrosis Ireland since it began in 2016, helping them fund services and supports for people with CF across Ireland.
Over 4 days I will cycle the length of the country, 640km in total. As well as raising money for a really great cause I have had this challenge on my bucket list for many years.
Here's an overview of the cycle schedule:
Day 1: Malin Head - Bundoran
Day 2: Bundoran - Oranmore
Day 3: Oranmore - Mallow
Day 4: Mallow - Mizen Head
Training has started in earnest, I have 9 weeks remaining on my training plan where I will gradually build up to the daily distances required. I aim to cover around 2,500KM over the next 9 weeks. I will link my training sessions to this page via Strava for those of you interested in tracking my progress
I am aiming to reach a fundraising target of €2000. Any contributions will be greatly appreciated.
