Story
Thank you for visiting my page.
For charity I am challenging myself to complete the Blackpool Half Marathon on Sunday 21st April 2024.
I’m supporting Sarcoma UK, a national charity that funds vital research, offers support for anyone affected by sarcoma cancer and campaigns for better treatments.
The reason for choosing Sarcoma is that in 2012, my Wife to be, Tracey was diagnosed with Leiomyosarcoma. At 43 she was diagnosed with the rare soft-tissue cancer of the womb and in September 2012 underwent a hysterectomy to hopefully remove the cancer. Luckily it hadn't spread to other tissues beyond the womb but had still cost Tracey a lot, albeit it could have been much worse. In 2022 she received her 10 year all clear.
She was originally diagnosed with fibroids (non cancerous tumours of the womb) but when part of a fibroid fell out of her and was tested, the diagnosis was changed for the worse and her world turned upside down. Even more so, as she was at the time, a single mum to Frances who was just 12.
We met in July 2018 and the rest is history.
So this is me, doing my bit to raise some funds for Sarcoma and to raise awareness of it with it being such a rare type of cancer.
Sarcoma is a type of cancer that develops in the bone and soft tissue. It is difficult to diagnose and one of the hardest to treat. By supporting me, we can help change this. Your donation will help researchers find answers, keep our Support Line open, and raise awareness to improve treatment and standards of care.
Thank you for your support.
