Emmett's Genies long-term goal is to have a "wish village" that provides critically ill children and their families with accommodation that is full of magic and wonder, where nothing is too much and where imagination is the start.

Story

I first met Emmett in September 2022 when he joined my maths class- inspired by his story, his strength and he and his mums determination to make dreams come true for children who are experiencing what he has -I am now running the London Marathon to tell Emmett’s story and hopefully, with your support, help Emmett’s Genies to take a small step closer to achieving their ultimate dream to create a wish village for critically ill children in the UK.

Emmett was two and a half years old in July 2018 when he was diagnosed with a stage four Germ Cell Tumour. However, following surgery and several months of gruelling chemotherapy treatment which resulted in many nasty side effects, in March 2019, Emmett was given “complete remission” status.

When during his fight against Cancer Make A Wish UK, granted Emmett’s wish to meet Scooby Doo and the gang in Florida, Emmett’s mum, Amy, was inspired to find a way to create something similar for other Wish Kids and their families in the UK.

Emmett's Genies have a long-term goal to have a fairytale "wish village" that provides critically ill children and their families with a once-in-a-lifetime experience; a purpose built village where imagination comes to life in accommodation that is far away from the hospital settings these children have become so used to.

In the interim they are creating an app that children can access during treatment, to use their imaginations to help design the eventual village.

A wish village created by critically ill children for critically ill children.
