Mike's Amputee O2 climb for The Limbless Association

Michael Philpott is raising money for The Limbless Association

I'm Climbing the 02 Arena! · 2 October 2026

We understand that navigating the complexities of limb loss and limb difference can be completely overwhelming. We provide excellent, FREE, accessible information and advice to empower all amputees and those with limb difference, and families and friends, to lead independent and fulfilled lives.

Story

The Limbless Association are a national charity supporting lives beyond limb loss. We believe No Amputee Need Cope Alone.

As the Largest Civilian Limb Loss Charity in the UK, established in 1983, we have been working with amputees and sector professionals for over 42 years. We offer information, advice and support for amputees, their family and friends and professionals.

Through our Volunteer Visitor Network, events, resources and our helpdesk we strive to ensure no amputee need cope alone.

I've been associated with the LA since becoming a lower leg amputee in December 2019 and they've provided me with support, help, and advice and so much more in that time. I've worked as a Volunteer Visitor since 2022, which provides me with many rewarding and enriching experiences of my own through conversations with fellow amputees, pre-amputees, or people who are undergoing that first difficult realisation that they may have to have a limb removed.

I can't speak highly enough about the work this charity does, and I am looking forward immensely to raising some funds to help them with this by, erm, climbing the roof of the O2 Arena with some of my fellow amputees 🤷‍♀️
