Story
I'm running the London Marathon 2026 in memory of my sister, Elaine, who passed away a long time ago, but has never left our hearts.
Elaine suffered from very significant disabilities for all of her short life and Barnardos were always a great source of support for her and our whole family. I've also volunteered and worked with Barnardos at various times throughout my life and I've seen the difference they make in children and families lives in various ways in real terms.
At this difficult time of funding cuts and increased living costs they are a vital resource for many and do really important work for a lot of families who often don't have much other support. I know times are tricky but I'd kindly ask you to donate any amount you can. I'm really grateful for any contribution.
So far my training has largely consisted of various small (and some large) mental breakdowns over the notion of running 26 miles. Come hell or highwater, however, I'll cross the finish line (I'm planning to find a sturdy lad who's happy to give me a cuddy back early doors).
Thanks,
Michael
