Michael Reay is raising money for Cure Leukaemia

Paris Marathon 2025 · 13 April 2025 ·

In April 2025, Cure Leukaemia returned to France joined by 200n inspiring runners who took on the Paris Marathon to help raise vital funds for blood cancer patients.

Story

On Sunday 13th April, I will run for Team Cure Leukaemia in the Paris Marathon!

Over 26.2 miles, I will run across the streets of Paris on behalf of blood cancer patients across the world.

In 2018 I was diagnosed with Leukaemia myself and underwent treatment. Thankfully it was successful and I am in remission. Hopefully I have recovered my health enough so that with your kind sponsorship I will be able to give something back. The run will take place the week before I retire from work (my first wage was 10 shillings for a day and a half's potato picking in the mid 60s) and what better way to celebrate such a momentous occasion than doing my first marathon at 66!

All funds raised means we can help the prospects of blood cancer patients by funding more nurses and running more clinical trials through the Trials Acceleration Programme - so thank you for your generous donations!
