As many of you know, we very sadly lost my lovely Dad on the 4th of April 2025 after his battle with PSP (Progressive Supranuclear Palsy). It’s been incredibly tough, but this year (And like last) I want to focus on raising awareness, helping signpost resources for other families, and supporting anyone who might be going through the exact same journey.

Because of that, I’m raising funds for the PSP Association (PSPA) again this year. Last year, across both of our charity events, this incredible community smashed all expectations and raised a whopping £3,000 - which my workplace was generous enough to completely match, bringing our total to a life-changing amount for the charity. For those who don't know, PSP is a rare neurological condition that impacts movement, balance, speech, and vision. There are only about 4,000 people in the UK living with it, and because it’s so rare, it often gets misunderstood or misdiagnosed. The PSPA does incredible work providing life-changing information and support to families like mine, and they completely rely on donations to fund vital research.

So, for the second year running, I’m combining my love for Pokémon with a cause that's very dear to me. We’re doing two big events this September, and I’d love for you to be a part of it 💫

🎉 The Fundraising Events

📺 Event 1: The Big Pokémon TCG Stream & Giveaways!

When: Saturday 12th September 2026

Following the unbelievable support on last year's stream - where we managed to hit that incredible £1,000 milestone - we are doing it all over again. Expect another massive live stream full of Pokémon Trading Card Game openings, exciting pulls, and of course, plenty of community fun.

Last year, we had amazing backing from some incredible businesses who donated binders, vouchers, rare packs, and graded slabs. This year is going to be even bigger. I’ll be sharing full details, prizes, and announcements throughout August, so keep your eyes peeled.

🎬 Event 2: In-Person Charity Movie Afternoon – Pokémon 2000

When: Sunday 20th September 2026

Where: Ouseburn Garden, Newcastle upon Tyne

We're heading back to Ouseburn Garden for a nostalgic community afternoon on the big screen! Last year's movie day was such a special part of raising that £3,000, and I can't wait to see everyone in person again. This year, we’re watching a personal favourite: Pokémon The Movie 2000.

🕒 Family-friendly: Everyone is welcome, so feel free to bring the kids!

🍿 Goodies: We’ll have popcorn and PSPA bits available on the day.

🎟️ Entry: Completely free, but space is strictly limited to 60 people.

Why This Matters

This fundraiser is incredibly personal. It’s a tribute to my Dad, and a way for me to turn grief into something positive. I want to help ensure other families going through this don't feel entirely alone, and to help fund a future where PSP has much better support and understanding.

The PSPA is the only UK charity entirely dedicated to improving life for everyone affected by PSP and CBD. They do a brilliant job, but they can't do it without our help.
