Story
Three Races. One Mission.
This year, I’m pushing my limits across three events: a 10k, a Half Marathon, and a Full Marathon. I’m putting in the miles to support a cause that is incredibly close to my heart: The Fire Fighters Charity.
The Reality of the Role As a firefighter, I know that the challenges of the job don’t always stay at the station. We see things that stay with us, and the physical and mental toll can be heavy. As a mum, I also know the "mental load" of balancing a high-pressure career with family life. Sometimes, the tank runs empty.
I’m taking on these three distances to represent the resilience we all need to keep moving forward, and to ensure that no member of the fire community has to move forward alone.
Why Now? The last time I ran a marathon was in 2019. Life has become significantly "fuller" and heavier since then. Training for 26.2 miles while working shifts and raising a family is a massive personal challenge, but it’s nothing compared to the struggles some of my colleagues face every day.
About The Fire Fighters Charity - They offer a lifeline to serving and retired fire and rescue staff and their families. Whether it’s mental health support, physical rehabilitation, or social well-being, they are there when the "uniform" feels too heavy to carry.
They rely almost entirely on donations to keep these vital services running. Every penny raised will go directly to providing support for those who spend their lives protecting others.
Thank you for your support—every mile and every donation counts.
