Octover the Top, Too!

Michael Morehouse is raising money for Mental Health UK

Climb The Capital 2026 · 10 October 2026 · Start fundraising for this event

Mental Health UK works in schools, homes and workplaces to build a thriving UK where good mental health is prioritised. We challenge the systems and situations that hold people back, and equip them with tools and advice to unlock their full potential.

Story

For the second October in a row I've set myself the goal of climbing the stairs of some of the UK's tallest skyscrapers, all in a bid to raise a little money for some very good causes. A few years ago a traumatic brain injury pushed me back into some very dark places, and I'm still (quite literally) climbing my way back out. I'm relatively lucky, though, my body isn't fighting me along the way, in fact it's been helping me by pushing me to climb. Well that got me thinking about those facing similar mental health issues, but with the added barrier of conditions that just might stop them from (reliably) putting two feet in front of the other. Well, while my feet still function I may as well put them to good use, so I challenge you to challenge me, to help me help myself by helping others in support of Mental Health UK! Three buildings in one event on October 10th, the Cheesegrater, the Scalpel, the Walkie Talkie, all in one day and all for a great cause!
