Story
Michael Ponsford had been a member of Chorleywood scouts since he joined as a cub scout, in 1969. He became an adult member in 1979 and has given a phenomenal 46 years of service to Scouting in Chorleywood. He could always be relied upon to support activities, proud of his scouting skills and keen to share them with the young people. At a memorable camp in around 2017 he proudly informed us that the campfire he was to light for the Saturday night at camp would be his 500th campfire lit for scouts.
Michael worked in the coop store (formerly Budgens) in Chorleywood all of his adult life, and will be missed by many following his passing in February.
His family have asked that donations could be made in his name to support the renovation fund for the refurbishment of Chorleywood scouts HQ building, hence why this page has been set up.
