Sensitive issue

I am usually a happy, positive person. This year has changed that and I feel it important to acknowledge that as everything is not always sunshine and rainbows.

On Mothers Day 2023, we lost our beloved Arlene. My sister and best friend. Arlene left us all completely broken as she tragically took her own life. My beautiful sister was an incredible person, a dedicated mum and nurse. Nothing will ever replace her and I’m still devastated that she is lost to all who loved her so so much.

So, I am going to join a group of wonderful women who were closest to Arlene. We are doing the Kiltwalk this year on 28th April and raising money for our chosen charity, Beautiful Inside and Out. They support children bereaved by Suicide. I would be so glad if you would consider donating anything you can to this worthy cause.

Beautiful Inside and Out (SCIO) is a charity that helps the loved ones left behind after suicide, providing additional support to children.

It can be a challenge to find appropriate support when you have lost someone to suicide. Often times, once you pluck up the courage to ask for help there is a waiting list or you are asked to wait a whole year before getting help.

Our own family was directed to Beautiful Inside & Out - a charitable organisation I had no prior knowledge of. They offered support swiftly in the form of in-person Counselling, Play Therapy for children and finding professional support locally. They undertake powerful work.

I would be incredibly grateful if you could donate anything, big or small, every penny helps in helping a child or adult dealing with the complex emotions after losing someone they love to suicide.

Thank you, Michèle
