My younger sister, Kelly, was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer at the beginning of the New Year. To say it came as a huge shock is an understatement and it has been an incredibly emotional time for everyone close to the family.

Kelly is currently undergoing treatment and has taken everything in her stride. She is a true warrior and I am in complete awe of how brave and strong she is.

Cancer has affected so many people I know, my family, friends and work colleagues and I’d like to use the opportunity I have been given to fundraise for a local cause, that is Aurora Wellbeing Centre in Worksop.

Kelly and many others I’ve spoken to have accessed the services of the Aurora Wellbeing Centre and have been grateful for it.

The Aurora Wellbeing Centre provides a range of services and support including emotional support and counselling, something which I know Kelly has found really helpful as she navigates this process. They also provide advice on skin care and hair loss, exercise, nutrition and sometimes just a listening ear. Their experienced practitioners and therapists help people to better manage and understand their feelings with services designed to boost wellbeing, self-esteem and confidence in a safe and relaxing environment.

Thank you to everyone from the bottom of my heart. I have worked hard in training and could not have done it without my incredible running friends. Now it is time to taper for the big day. 😊
