Michelle's fundraiser for Alzheimer's Society

In October 2014, nearly ten years ago, we lost my grandfather - Subhi Yousif (Papa to me) - after nearly a decade long battle with Alzheimers.
As anyone who has lost a loved one to Alzheimers will tell you - you lose them twice: when they forget who you are, who they are, the context to the world around them, and when they pass.
My Papa was an extremely special man. He actually won Time Man of the Year due to his bravery and leadership during the Kuwait Airways Hijacking of 1988. He was the pilot, and wasn't meant to be flying that day, but ended up trapped on the plane for 16 days. By the time I was old enough to understand what he'd been through, he had unfortunately already lost his ability to speak English. I wish I'd been able to hear from him what happened.
I'm not sure what he would think about me raising money by willingly jumping out of a plane. I suspect he'd prefer me to be safely inside of one. But he was a brave man, and although this is terrifying, being a little brave to raise money for a wonderful cause seems worth it.
If you have a bit of money to spare to help support the Alzheimer's Society, it would be enormously appreciated.
Photo is of my Papa and I at the Memory Walk in 2012 - absolutely drenched from the rain!
