Story
Every day, 250 people in the UK begin losing their sight. Hearing that you have irreversible sight loss can be devastating, affecting both emotional wellbeing and daily life. Simple tasks like walking to the shops, cooking, or reading can feel overwhelming.
Our services help people live as independently as possible, whether it’s providing training to walk using a long cane, equipment advice, help understanding technology, counselling support, social groups or family activities, our goal is to build people’s confidence and independence.
Having worked as an Optometrist in Kent for over 30 years, I have seen the importance of the work KAB do. I frequently refer patients to them for support and guidance when having to deal with sight loss. As a local charity helping the community, I am honoured to help them raise much needed funds to continue and expand the very important work they do.
