Story
To mark my 10 year stroke anniversary I’m taking park in Different Strokes charity event ‘March On’ with a target of walking 100k in the month of March!
As many of you gorgeous lot know I survived a Subarachnoid brain haemorrhage which occurred shortly after my 30th birthday on the 8th September 2014 whilst 27 weeks pregnant.
I’d like to thank my wonderful friends & family who stuck by me & supported me through my life changing recovery journey. The first 2 years after.. wow, well what can I say.. having to lay flat for 3 months isn’t as relaxing as it first may sound! I turned a corner after the first 2 years & then again at 5 years when my headaches reduced to create a more manageable reality. I’m grateful more than words could say to be here now living my life post stroke when so many others sadly can not say the same.
To mark my 10 year anniversary I’d like give back & take part in Different Strokes charity event - ‘March On’ which is encouraging & empowering younger stroke survivors.
I’d absolutely welcome & appreciate any help & support! Thank you, Shell xx

Every year 100,000 people have a stroke and a quarter of these people are under the age of 65. That's 25,000 younger people whose lives are changed in an instant.
Stroke is also the single biggest cause of disability in the UK, but it's not always the visible disabilities that stroke survivors have to contend with, debilitating fatigue, cognitive problems and personality changes can also be a lifelong challenge, preventing them from returning to work or bringing up a young family.
Different Strokes empowers younger survivors to reclaim their lives through active peer support, information and exercise.
Different Strokes also support the wider family to get through challenging times with compassion and understanding.
This is why I am taking on the 'March On' step challenge to raise vital funds to support the work of Different Strokes.
