Michelle & Ralphie’s 100km in March for LimbBo!

100km walk! · 31 March 2025
This March, Ralphie & I are going to be walking 100km together to raise money for a very special charity!
“The LimbBo Foundation’s main aim is to support children with a limb difference and their families.”
Ralphie’s story:
Our gorgeous baby boy Ralphie is 1 in 32,000 children who at 4 weeks of gestation, had a lack of blood flow to his limb, resulting in his left hand not forming properly. What should have been a standard 20 week scan to see our baby growing, was instead the heartbreaking news our baby had no left hand.
For the months that followed, we had weekly scan appointments with Nottingham Foetal Medicine & Kings Mill hospital to understand the diagnosis & the support available to us as a family which will continue throughout Ralphie’s life.
Following the diagnosis I immediately looked online for support knowing nothing about limb differences. From there I contacted Jane at LimbBo, who has been nothing short of incredible since that first email in May 2024.
Jane helped Luke & I navigate our journey of heartbreak, understanding, worry & acceptance, being one of very few people who we initially shared the news with - all standard emotions of parents in a similar situation to us.
We received a lovely surprise welcome pack through the post from her and after every scan would check in to enquire how we both were and offer reassurance that everything would be okay.
Seeing what a difference LimbBo made, organising Adventure Day, Camp LimbBo & a Christmas Party, made us feel incredibly lucky that Ralphie will have such a strong support network in addition to his friends and family. But most importantly he will have friends with a limb difference just like him.
After months of fear & anxiety, the moment I gave birth to Ralphie we genuinely forgot every worry, and were both just overcome with love & besotted by him, because his limb difference is just a very small part of what makes him who he is - our darling boy.
Every pound we raise will truly help to make a difference to the lives of limb different children and their families. LimbBo run so many incredible events but also support families through all stages of living with a limb difference.
The reassurance & support helped us immeasurably and I am so grateful to have found LimbBo. Please if you are able to, sponsor us to walk 100km this March!
Thank you,
Love Michelle & Ralphie x
