Michelle's fundraiser for MyVision Oxfordshire

Michelle Evans is raising money for MyVision Oxfordshire
In memory of John Claridge - JC

Walking the entirety of the Kennet & Avon Canal from Reading to Bristol · 1 August 2024

MyVision Oxfordshire helps blind and partially sighted adults and children across Oxfordshire to cope with sight loss. We are committed to promoting independence and opportunity and offer information, advice and support to those affected, their families and carers.

Story

My lovely nephew, Devante Claridge, who is visually impaired himself, works for MyVision Oxford as a Community Engagement Worker. Through his enthusiasm and lust for life he encourages others, who might not venture out otherwise, to take part in life enrichment activities from coffee mornings to lawn bowls, craft sessions, mindfulness sessions and everything in between.

Dee is a Life Enhancer, much like his Grandad.

Dad (JC) was known to many and loved to wander the canal and the countryside in general immersing himself in nature whilst bird watching. Therefore it made sense to follow in his footsteps. Don't worry, I am not attempting the 96 miles all in one day. It will be done in daily stages and I will keep you all updated. A Dad yellow bead will be placed at each stage along the way.

Many thanks, Michelle aka Foxy 🦊
