CoppaTrek! Challenge - Yorkshire Dales · 11 May 2024 ·

This May, our alumni trekkers will be taking on the challenging but stunning adventure in the Yorkshire Dales, trekking either a half or full marathon distance in one day, alongside their choice of plus ones! All in the name of chest checking!

Story

following last years fantastic 100km trek in Northumberland for CoppaFeel charity. I am embarking on an alumni trek in the Yorkshire dales and this time Adam is coming with me!

We have chosen to be completing the half marathon (full marathon was a choice- but not one we have made!😂), still no small feet at 13 miles (21km) in one day. Our target is much smaller this year compared to last year, but we still need to raise £250 each. Any donations would be much appreciated xx

Following my first night out after our baby son was born, I was expressing some very full boobies and I found ‘the lump’. I had dismissed it as a blocked milk duct- however 2 weeks later it was still there. I had a cautionary tale of friend who was going through breast cancer treatment at this time. She had been told it was a blocked duct, but 4 months later was diagnosed with breast cancer. I told every medical professional this cautionary tale in the hope I would be taken seriously.

In January 2019, 4 weeks after my first doctors appointment and when our sons were 17 months and 4 months- I received my breast cancer diagnosis.

A little over a month later I had a lumpectomy and May 2019 I completed 7 rounds of chemotherapy followed by 20 rounds of radiotherapy. If you’re interested in seeing more of my pondering during treatment, (or wanna see my baldy bonce!) my Instagram @mrs_h_does is still going.

I am not a fit person! I would love to blame chemo steroids and lockdown for the extra pounds and limited activity- however I wasn’t really much fitter before hand! So this is going to be a super difficult challenge for me. But one that I hope will help get my fitness levels up as well as raise a bit of money for coppafeel.

Welcome to my fundraising page for CoppaFeel!

This May I will set out on an extraordinary CoppaTrek! challenge , all in the name of checking chests! Along with Gi Fletcher and other CoppaFeel! legends, I will be taking on marathon distance in one day, across the undulating terrain in the Yorkshire Dales, in a bid to raise funds towards CoppaFeel's life-saving mission.

Your donations will not only support my fundraising target, but most importantly CoppaFeel!. They are on a mission to stamp out the late diagnosis of breast cancer by making sure that young people are regularly checking their boobs, pecs and chests and getting to know their bodies in order to have the confidence to see their GP if something just doesn't feel normal.

Thanks so much for your donation & support. To find out more about CoppaFeel! head to www.coppafeel.org.
