Our fun loving Dad Michael or Mike to some, sadly passed away from prostate cancer on the 13th August. He fought so bravely with his own cancer diagnosis but truthfully he was devastated by the loss of our beautiful Mom, his wife Cheryl who passed away in April of this year from pancreatic cancer. Dad was lost without her, so it brings us comfort that they are now together forever.

Dad was the life and soul of a party, he loved to rock out to Queen, often blasting his music, dancing, clapping his hands and well just loving life. He loved his family dearly, his brothers and sister. His children as well as his grandson Charlie. Dad would help anyone in need but he also would suffer no fools gladly. Those who knew him would know this full well.

His love of cycling was clear for all to see, after he finished racing he went on to dedicate over 20 years to road race cycling, with him and Mom running the SSSCCRRL road race league. Something he was truly passionate about. Rain or shine Dad made sure the race would go on. His legacy continues, something he would be proud of.

Even though Dad was diagnosed with prostate cancer, he recognised that treatment for prostate cancer has thankfully come so far. However the diagnosis and treatment of pancreatic cancer is still so far behind. Pancreatic cancer remains one of the cancers with the poorest prognosis. Ultimately without donations, research cant be funded, and people deserve more than just hope. This is something Dad knew all too well.

Rest Easy now Dad, give Mom a love from us all.
