Story

For Joanna – Supporting Headcase Cancer Trust

On 24 January, our lives changed forever.

Joanna went to A&E with weakness down her left side. Within a week, we received the devastating news that she had glioblastoma, an aggressive and incurable brain tumour that would ultimately take her life.

The standard treatment for glioblastoma is surgery where possible, followed by radiotherapy and chemotherapy, and then maintenance chemotherapy for as long as the patient can tolerate it. Unfortunately, due to the location and nature of Joanna's tumour, surgery was not an option. Despite facing her diagnosis with remarkable courage, kindness and determination, the treatments available today could only buy time, not offer a cure.

Joanna chose to support Headcase Cancer Trust, a charity dedicated to funding research into glioblastoma and other brain cancers. Their work helps fund vital research, clinical trials and the search for more effective treatments, giving hope to future patients and families facing this cruel disease.

Joanna believed passionately that others should have better options and better outcomes than she did.

If you are able, please consider making a donation in her memory. Every contribution, no matter the size, helps support research that could one day change the future for those diagnosed with glioblastoma.

Thank you for helping us honour Joanna's life and continue her legacy of hope, compassion and community.

"Until there is a cure, there is research. Until there is research, there is hope." ❤️
