Camino de Santiago in memory of Ferghal Quinn · 5 July 2026

Evora Hospice, formerly Southern Area Hospice Services, helps patients with life-limiting conditions live well from diagnosis to end-of-life, providing care tailored to each person's unique needs, wishes, and quality of life.

Story

Callum's Camino Challenge July 2026

Our amazing 18 year old nephew Callum, Conor and myself are taking on the challenge of walking 120kms of the Camino from Sarria to Santiago de Compostela to raise vital funds for a fantastic local charity close to our hearts - Evora Hospice Care in memory of Ferghal Quinn, Conor's brother.

Walking 120kms is tough enough for anyone but for Callum who has cerebral palsy - a condition that affects movement and coordination, it will mean every step will be more demanding for him, though Callum has never let his disability define him, he will definitely be pushing himself further than ever before BUT with total determination!!!

Evora Hospice Care helps patients with life-limiting conditions live well from diagnosis to end-of-life, providing care tailored to each person's unique needs, wishes, and quality of life.

We as a family know only too well how wonderful a charity this is, a place where they cared for Ferghal with such compassion, dignity and respect whilst offering support to the family.

They rely on fundraising in order to carry out all the specialist care to those who need it. This year it will cost approximately £6,000,000 to run the hospice of which they must raise £4,000,000.

So by sponsoring us you are not just supporting a walk you are helping to provide comfort, dignity and specialist care for when it matters most.

Every penny raised will go directly to this charity as we will be self funding our walk.

Thank you for being a huge part of our journey and we look forward to updating you on our steps.

Callum, Conor and Michelle
