Story
Mick has played 1st team all of his cricketing life and has had 50 amazing years at it. He has played for 3 great teams, Southwell and Farnsfield in the Bassetlaw 1A section and also Collingham. He started as an exceptionally quick bowler that earned him the nickname "Animal" but then his body became tired and he swapped to being an incredible off spinner. People that played against him will tell you that they struggled to get him off the square. He just fired into the pads and it was unplayable!
Sadly he has now been diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease - MND - but he is strong and he is a fighter.
We are hosting this "All Star Cricket Match" for Mick and the MND association, to help Mick and all the other families that are fighting this illness.
In honour of Mick's cricketing life we are hosting a cricket match between "Collingham All Stars" and "Southwell All Stars" on Saturday 23rd September at 1:00pm at Dale Field Collingham. We will also be having a cake sale, raffle and time to reflect on years gone by.
Mick would love to see you all.
