2026 Fundraising

Our Scottish Hazards Centre provides advice, training & support to workers on workplace health & safety issues. Our plans require us to secure annual funding of £100,000. Your help towards that is greatly appreciated. Together we'll make Scotland a safer place to live and work!

Story

My wee brother Michael died in an electrical incident at work on 04 August 2005, because his employer didn't look after his health and safety. In the aftermath of his death, and still to this day, we've been supported by the wonderful team at Scottish Hazards. And we now do our utmost to help support the charity, and other families who need their advice and support.

The first of the fundraising efforts for the year will be walking the Glasgow Kiltwalk with Nicky Midgley on Sunday 26 April 2026. This walk is particularly special to Nicky as the 23 miles ends at Balloch on the shores of Loch Lomond, so close to where her brother Simon and his partner Richard lost their lives in the Cameron House Hotel fire. We will walk for our brothers and Richard. 💜💜💜

Next up for me, will be a 100 mile, through the night cycle, with my intrepid partner Colm Allen, who shakes his head every year I suggest one of these. And then agrees to sign up. 😄

And then who knows what else we might get up to later in the year.

Here's to continuing to build Mickey Tam's legacy, in the 21st year since his death. 💜
