We are a group of 5 Scouts and Explorers from across the Haywards Heath area who have been selected to attend the 26th World Scout Jamboree in Gdansk, Poland in the summer of 2027.

For us it is a once in a lifetime opportunity to meet young people from around the world, learn new skills and grow in confidence and independence. We are really looking forward to representing Mid Sussex at this event, and this challenge is one of many fundraising activities we have organised as a group.

Attending the Jamboree involves significant cost, and collectively we need to raise a total of £17,000 to cover the admission fee, travel costs and training events before the trip.

To help fundraise towards these costs, we have challenged ourselves as a team to travel the distance between Haywards Heath and Gdansk - a total of a staggering 1,026 miles!! This journey can be undertaken by any means as long as it is powered by us, so this could be a weekend bike ride, a scenic hike, or even a trip out in a canoe! Every mile counts!

We will be tracking our progress as we travel virtually across Europe to our destination in Poland, and we'll post regular updates here so you can see how the team are getting on. We may even upload some pictures so you can see the creative ways we are clocking up the miles!
