Story
I'm lacing up my running shoes and donning a Taylor Swift costume for the Bath Half Marathon to support the Music Workshop in Bath. This isn't just any charity for me—it's a place where my family and I spend a lot of time, and we've seen firsthand the amazing work they do. The Music Workshop provides music scholarships to young people, helping them discover and nurture their musical talents.
As some of you know, I'm a relatively keen runner and the thought of doing this race in any sort of costume fills me with dread... as I didn't fancy my chances dressed as a microphone or drum kit, I've decided to go for a Taylor Swift sporty number. Your donations will not only cheer me on as I shake it off down the course but also make a real difference in the lives of aspiring young musicians.
To give you a better sense of their impact, here's what the Music Workshop says:
'Here at Music Workshop we’re aiming to improve music accessibility in the South West ensuring as many people as possible get to experience the benefits of music participation; regardless of age, background, or circumstance.
Our scholarship scheme offers…
-Free music lessons and instruments for those who otherwise would be unable to access vital music services.
-Subsidised places on a multitude of music projects, from group music making projects, recording opportunities, masterclasses and skill sessions.
-Opportunities to perform at some of Bath and the UK’s premier music events & venues, including Major Festivals and Carnivals.
-Free Rehearsal Space for young bands and musicians.'
