Mike Avis: creating a lasting legacy for a wonderful man

Mike sadly died on February 12th, just 5 months after being diagnosed with a glioblastoma. His type of brain tumour meant that surgery and radiotherapy weren’t possible. He had one round of chemo which resulted in a pulmonary embolism and he was left with no further treatment options under the NHS.
Although we did find private alternatives it was too late for Mike. If he had been well enough to progress we’d have needed somewhere between £100-250k and even then there’d have been no cure but he would at least have had more time with us.
We’re fundraising for Brain Tumour Research, in memory of our darling Mike, as they’re the only national charity dedicated to funding long-term, sustainable research in the UK. Only 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to brain tumours and this is unacceptable.
Please help us fund the fight and create a lasting legacy for the wonderful man we all knew. We’ll miss him dreadfully.
