On 7th August, I will be attempting to unicycle the full 13-mile route around Lake Vyrnwy in Mid Wales to raise money for the Wales Air Ambulance Charity.

To put the challenge into perspective, I have never ridden more than one mile on a unicycle before, so completing a half-marathon distance around Lake Vyrnwy will be one of the toughest things I have ever attempted.

This fundraiser is very personal to me. In January this year, the Wales Air Ambulance crew flew from Welshpool in an attempt to save my dad's life. Despite their incredible efforts, professionalism and dedication, sadly they were unable to save him. I will never forget the care and compassion shown by the crew during such a difficult time for my family.

The Wales Air Ambulance Charity provides advanced life-saving emergency care across Wales, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Operating as a mobile emergency department, the service relies entirely on charitable donations to keep its helicopters in the air and rapid response vehicles on the road.

I understand that each Wales Air Ambulance mission costs approximately £3,000. My initial goal is to raise at least enough money to cover the cost of one mission through sponsorship, donations and support from local businesses.

Although it has been confirmed that the Welshpool air base will relocate to North Wales, the charity still depends on public donations to continue delivering this vital service to communities across Wales.

Every donation, no matter how big or small, will help Wales Air Ambulance continue providing life-saving emergency care when people need it most.
