At the beginning of October I'll be taking part in the O'Brien Contractors Charity Bike Ride, cycling over 300 miles in just three days from Bilbao to Madrid.

We're raising money for the O'Brien Charitable Trust, which supports a number of fantastic causes close to the group's heart, including Ronald McDonald House and Zoe's Place, which is also the chosen charity of our Plantforce Midlands Depot.

The challenge is made even bigger by the fact that I'm completely new to road cycling, so the next couple of months will involve plenty of training miles, sore legs and probably a few moments where I question why I signed up!

Any donation, no matter how big or small, would be hugely appreciated. Not only will it help raise money for some great charities, but it will also give me some extra motivation during the long training rides and the 300+ miles between Bilbao and Madrid.
