Ring of Kerry 170km challenge 2024 · 6 July 2024

Since our conception in 1984, we have raised in excess of £3 million in order to support sick and disadvantaged children across the UK. Our charitable partners include Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity, Spread a Smile, Skeletal Cancer Trust and Playskill.

Story

A group of lifelong school friends are attempting the Ring of Kerry charity bike ride - covering 170km in a day. This challenge will mark a major birthday, and be a great opportunity to support a local Children's charity. The group consists of:-

Frank McElroy, Steve Dunford and Mike Carroll who are hoping to survive the day!

The THE CHILDRENS WELFARE AND RESEARCH FOUNDATION story began in 1984 with the goal of helping sick and disadvantaged children across the UK and Ireland, since it's formation over £3,000,000 has been raised supporting a number children's charities:-

Great Ormond Street Hospital provide support, research and life-saving treatment to children and young adults. www.GOSH.org

The Skeletal Cancer Trust seeks to improve the lives and increase the survival rate of children and young adults afflicted with bone cancer. www.skeletalcancertrust.org

Spread a Smile was founded to bring joy and laughter to seriously ill and hospitalised children. www.spreadasmile.org

Playskill was founded to support children up to age five with physical disabilities and delays to develop their communication, movement and key life skills. www.playskill.org
