Sturge Weber UK inspires to promote research and share knowledge to empower individuals diagnosed with Sturge Weber Syndrome and their families and carers. Giving strength to create a supportive, inclusive and caring community whilst raising both public and professional awareness.

Story

Join us on an inspiring journey as we embark on the Hadrian’s Wall Veterans’ Trek, where a team of dedicated veterans will walk from Newcastle to Carlisle across the historic Hadrian’s Wall. Accompanying Mike, will be Terry Williamson and Gaz Byrne, all of whom served together in A (Champion) Coy 1st Battalion The King’s Regiment in the 90s. This trek, taking place on September 1, 2025, aims to raise vital funds for Sturge Weber UK, an organization committed to promoting research and sharing knowledge about Sturge Weber Syndrome.

Sturge Weber UK empowers individuals diagnosed with this condition, along with their families and carers, by fostering a supportive and inclusive community. Through their efforts, they raise both public and professional awareness about the challenges faced by those living with Sturge Weber Syndrome.

In a powerful display of solidarity and understanding, one of our team members will undertake this trek with one hand tethered to their body and wearing an eye patch. This brave act is intended to mimic the symptoms experienced by their child, enhancing personal awareness while also shining a light on the experiences of others affected by this condition.

We invite you to support our cause by donating to Sturge Weber UK. Your contribution will help further research initiatives and provide essential resources for families navigating the complexities of Sturge Weber Syndrome. Together, we can create a brighter future for those impacted by this condition.
