Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Having run a couple of events previously (some of which were a long time ago) there was one goal I always wanted to achieve... running the London Marathon. For the last 10 years I have entered the ballot - and this year, I'm in!
I entered the ballot because I always vowed to myself that if I ever won a place, it would allow me to raise money for charities supported by my good friend Bob Gellett, in memory of his son Olly, who was sadly taken from us 10 years ago. And this year, that's exactly what I am doing.
This page will donate to The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity.
The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity raises money to save the lives of people with cancer. They ensure the world-leading nurses, doctors and research teams can provide the very best care and develop life-saving treatments, which are used across the UK and around the world.
From funding state-of-the-art equipment and groundbreaking research, to creating the very best patient environments, they will never stop looking for ways to improve the lives of people affected by cancer.
As I cross the starting line (not even thinking about the finish line at this point) I will be proudly doing it to raise money in memory of Olly and to support the charities that Bob's annually 'Grolly' day supports.
