To mark me entering my 70th year, I have decided to take on a trek challenge.

On the 30th of January 2026. I will be travelling to Tanzania to trek up Mount kilimanjaro.

Having done Everest Base Camp (5364 meters) a couple of years ago, this will be a far greater challenge going up to 5895 meters an an additional 531 meters higher.

Also, when I turn 70 in April, I will not be able to get travel insurance for over 6000 meters!

The Royal British Legion Band of Wales was formed by myself and a small group back in 2018 when we became a licensed band by the RBL.

Conditions of the licence are that we must be self funding and cannot use any RBL funds.

Therefore, I have decided to mark my challenge by fundraising for the band. The band members are all volunteers.

The funds are necessary for the day to day running of the band, insurance, sheet music, uniforms, venue hire, etc.
