100km run across the Isle of Arran · 5 April 2025

We provide accommodation and a safe haven for victims of domestic violence. The vulnerable women arriving at the Centre come from all walks of life and those seeking refuge often arrive with nothing but the clothes they stand in. Our aim is to help restore confidence and give hope for the future

Story

The Birmingham Crisis Centre provides refuge, help and support for women and children escaping domestic abuse.

I recently visited the Centre where I heard first hand some of the incredibly sad and heartbreaking stories which some of the residents have been through.

After hearing these stories as well as being inspired by the kind and great work of the staff at the Centre to support their residents, I felt compelled to do my part to support this charity.

On the 5th April next year, I'll be taking part in the RatRace Ultra Tour of Arran: a 2 day race running 50km each day across The Isle of Arran in Scotland.

A marathon (40km) is the furthest I've ever run, so 100km is quite the step up for me!!

I'll be honest. Training for this event has not been the most fun and enjoyable particularly as we get deeper into our dark, cold and wet winters!

However, I'm hoping with your help and support, we can use this event to raise some awareness and money to support this noble and inspiring charity.

Please give what you can.

Thanks so much.

Big Love, Mikey
