For over 30 years, Waterloo Community Counselling (WCC) has delivered life-changing counselling services and mental health support, providing over 7,500 hours of high-quality, individual therapy to 695 people alone last year.
WCC are one of the few organisations in London offering Low-Cost Counselling, ensuring long-term, professional mental health support remains accessible to those facing financial hardship. Their clients come from diverse backgrounds, many of whom have experienced loss, and abuse, leading to anxiety, depression, and other mental health challenges. At the heart of WCC is their Multilingual Counselling Service. This service offers free, mother-tongue therapy in over 23 different languages to refugees, asylum seekers, and migrants—many of whom have survived traumatic experiences of exile, torture, human trafficking, and modern slavery. Beyond therapy, WCC also offers holistic support and social activities to help out most marginalised and isolated service users feel safe, connected and empowered.
