In my 60th year of competitive swimming I’m preparing to take on the Thames Marathon, an epic 13K (8 mile) swim through one of the most stunning stretches of the river.

This isn’t just any swim—it’s a true marathon in the water. My longest swim so far. I’ll be pushing my limits as I glide past beautiful scenery, tackle long distances, and soak up the camaraderie of fellow swimmers. It’s the challenge of endurance, the thrill of completing each stretch, and the incredible sense of achievement as I reach the finish line. The atmosphere along the river is electric, with supporters cheering us on, and the spirit of the event making every stroke worthwhile.

I’m doing this to raise money for Level Water, a charity that provides 1-to-1 swimming lessons for children with disabilities. With every £15 donation, you’re helping to fund a lesson that could change a child’s life, giving them the skills and confidence to one day take on challenges like this.
