The Pewterers' Company is celebrating its 550th Anniversary this year.

Exactly fifty years ago, the Company set up the 500th Anniversary Trust with the specific aim of funding a research fellowship at the Institute of Neurology, London.

Over the last half-century the charity has funded a number of Fellows, all of whom have made significant contributions to our understanding of devastating brain disorders, including Dementia, Parkinson’s, Stroke and Epilepsy. More recently, Pewterers Fellows have begun developing new treatments that could change how these disorders are managed in our lifetimes.

To mark its 50th Anniversary, a series of fund-raising events have been planned, including a 55-mile sponsored walk - which started today in Marlow and will end on Monday 2 September at Pewterers' Hall in the heart of the City of London.

Although individual walkers have set up their own Just Giving pages, this page is for anyone who wishes to donate to an extremely worthwhile cause without feeling the need to single out a specific walker.
