In both, 2021 and 2022 , I embraced and succesfully completed this challenge on a supported and self-supported basis respectively. As the organisers say it does get in your head because in many ways it is unique , and so I return again this year to test myself to complete the 166.4 km route within the 36 hour time cap (this is not a "bimble") and to raise funds for the Royal Marines Charity.

This year is the 20th anniversary of the Royals involvement in Telic 1 , in which a friend of mine served - and he thinks constantly about those that did not come back. Additionally, participation in the Since 1664 Yomp has made me realise how many marines, former marines and their families there are within ones immediate daily life, each with their own experiences and that some of these former marines and their families face life changing or other challenges on daily basis as a result of their service.
