For some reason...I'm running the London Marathon this year.

I have chosen to support LEBBS and aim to raise some much needed funds for them.

In the critical moments when time is of the essence, and medical professionals need vital supplies transported swiftly and securely, these unsung heroes spring into action. They are the silent saviours of our healthcare system, offering a lifeline that connects donors, hospitals, and patients in need.

Blood bikes have been running in some parts of the UK since the late 1960’s. They provide an out-of-hours courier service transporting essential medical items such as blood, pathology & microbiology specimens, medical notes, pharmaceutical products, equipment and donor breast milk between hospitals and healthcare facilities.

Emergency blood bike charities are a beacon of hope in our communities, providing an invaluable service by transporting blood, organs, medication, and medical equipment to those who need them urgently.

They are entirely voluntary and rely on fundraising efforts to keep their service running.

Their mission is simple:

2. Save money for the NHS

3. Promote a positive image of bikers
