A Bike ride for Bolton hospice from Manchester Town Hall · 1 January 2026

Our consultant-led team of doctors, nurses and other professional staff provide expert care and support for local people with terminal or life-limiting illnesses and their families, in the hospice and at home.

Story

Hi all

To celebrate my friend and colleague Peter, on New Years Day I'm riding my bike from the doors of the Town Hall Extension to Bolton Hospice. The route will be about 20 miles as I'll be going via the Bridgewater canal and some forest trails. A 'nature' ride.

Whilst riding, I'm going to listen to songs Peter liked and try to remember the good times we had before Peter became too ill for us to continue to wild camp and hike in the hills together. And I'll be reflecting on the years we worked together on the Liquid logic Project 2017-2022 and on other projects until Peter retired due to ill health in July 2025.

I'm doing it to raise funds for Bolton Hospice, it's an amazing and lovely place, the doctors, nursing, care staff and reception staff are so kind.

Peter spent the last 4 weeks of his life at the hospice. The Hospice was so supportive to Peter and his family and friends.

If you'd like to support my effort. There is a link below and please feel free to share it with your colleagues.

Any donations you can make would be very much appreciated; Hospices are very special places and they provide support that's so much wider than purely 'medical' support.

Thank You

Jack
