🇮🇪THE #72hourcharitychallenge 2025🇮🇪

From peddle to peak 🚵🏻 🥾 ⛰️

The 4 Highest peaks charity challenge

On the 7th of August I will be attempting to climb the highest peak in each of the 4 provinces of Ireland while cycling between each one inside 72 hours

Connaught - Mwealrea (Co.Mayo)

Ulster - Slieve Donard (Co.Down)

Leinster - Lugnaquilla (Co.Wicklow)

Munster - Carrauntoohil (Co.Kerry)

Last year, I attempted this challenge and unfortunately I came up short at the end of the 3rd peak due to illness. This year I plan on going all the way.... because I hope to have your help and support all along the way!

We will be doing this for an incredible charity that supports our Irish athletes of all levels and abilities. An organisation that gives them the opportunity to preform not only here on home soil but also on the biggest stages of them all representing their country, The Special Olympics World Games, Winter Games, Summer Games and as well as many events in our own towns and villages.

Special Olympics Ireland do an incredible job at giving our own athletes a chance to shine both in our local communities and give them and their families an outlet through sport to express themselves

If you would be interested in testing yourself on the weekend of the 7th of August please do get in touch and tell your friends and let’s support, raise funds, create history and conquer the highest peaks in each province of Ireland TOGETHER 🇮🇪

WHY THE SPECIAL OLYMPICS IRELAND CHARITY

I chose Special Olympics Ireland as the cause I wanted to raise funds for because I truly believe they are a vital organisation for our fellow country men & women of all levels of ability.

Athletes of all ages are given the opportunity to represent this great nation on a world stage. Far more importantly they give every athlete, regardless of skill or ability the opportunity to represent their family within the local community and here on home soil.

We are a nation that epitomizes equal opportunity for everyone. The Special Olympics Ireland organisation is at the forefront of ensuring that our current generation and future generations have the chance to play, partake and thrive at sports in their home towns as well as on the world stage.

Without The Special Olympics Ireland charity this would not be possible.

Without my efforts, your efforts and the nation as a wholes efforts this incredible charity would not be able to support our own sons, daughters, nieces, nephews, friends and local legends in a way that is befitting of their efforts, talents and energy.

I believe that everyone deserves to be given a social outlet in sports and a place that they can set goals, meet friends and strike up life long friendships. That place for some is Special Olympic Ireland, a worthy, honorably and beautiful charity that needs all the support it can get so that it can continue to grow into the furthest reaches of Ireland and bring sport, joy and glory to every Irishman and women on this great isle.

Thank you for your support and please make a donation today.

This shows the power of the Irish people when they see a cause worth supporting. People from every corner of the country and beyond went out of their way to come out and support but more importantly donate to support our Irish athletes in aiding their training and travelling costs for the winter, summer & world games of the Special Olympics, as well as the local competitions that run in each of our communities.

We were informed it costs on average €870 to get an athlete to the world games which was being held the same week as our challenge in 2024. When you look at the amount raised and the amount of money needed, that’s 20 athletes lives effected positively from our efforts and your donations in 2024.

From the bottom of my heart and I know I can speak for the others involved in the challenge THANK YOU. Every donation from the price of a coffee and upwards has helped make this our most substantial amount raised to date for an incredible charity that is a pivotal part of our own local communities. Without the work these organisations do our own Irish sports men and women wouldn’t have a place to call home or the opportunity to fulfill their hopes and dreams of representing their country on a world stage but even more so have the opportunity to represent their families on the local and national stage.

We are in training for the #72hourcharitychallenge taking place on the weekend of the 7th - 10th of August where we will aim to raise much needed funds for this vital organisation by climbing the highest peak in each province in Ireland while cycling between each one in 72 hours.

We would love to have you along for the hikes. THIS IS NOT ONE TO BE MISSED
