Hi all,

As many of you know, today marks a year since my Dad sadly passed away. Dad received excellent care, throughout his illness, and we are grateful to all who supported him, but we struggle to express the level of gratitude we have to the ambulance team who attended him that evening.

Their compassion, warmth, and comforting presence allowed us as much peace and confidence as possible in such a scary time. They expertly balanced professionalism and efficiency with genuine human kindness, which allowed to us all to feel safe and prepared for the evening ahead.

As life-changing a night this was for us, I’m certain it will not have been the worse thing they had attended that week, or even that night. To experience what they will, and still be able to save lives, let alone function day to day, is truly nothing short of miraculous.

In memory of my Dad, and to thank the team that attended, I am too scared to do a skydive so instead I will brave the shave. (My luscious hair, not the beard!)

My hair will be donated to a relevant charity, and I am setting up a JustGiving page to raise money for the North West Ambulance service. All money donated will go to supporting this vital staff and their wellbeing.

The charity provides lifesaving equipment - such as AED's. education programmes, health & wellbeing programmes and other projects, for the benefit of it's incredible staff, volunteers and communities across the region.

Everything they do is over and above what NHS budgets can reach and every penny they raise helps to make a lifesaving difference to so many people.
