Story
In September 2025, I was diagnosed with high-risk, locally advanced, stage 3 prostate cancer. Since then, I have faced seven months of intensive treatment and still have another seventeen months of less intrusive therapy ahead. This journey has been challenging, yet it has also been a testament to the power of resilience and the support from my family and friends. Staying active has been a vital part of my recovery.
To mark this recovery phase and to give something back for the remarkable care I have received, I am embarking on a personal challenge: walking the 100 miles of the South Downs Way from Eastbourne to Winchester between 30 May and 6 June 2026.
This journey is resonates with me. It begins in 'Sussex by the Sea,' echoing the regimental march of my original regiment, and ends in Winchester at the Museum of the King’s Royal Hussars, where I serve as Chair. This route symbolises both my past and present, a tribute to my early life in the regiment that instilled resilience in me, and a celebration of life made possible by groundbreaking medical treatment under the expert care of Professor Langley and his team.
I am fundraising for The Prostate Project, an initiative dedicated to saving and prolonging the lives of men battling prostate cancer. Your support can make a real difference in advancing this vital cause. Donating through JustGiving goes directly to The Prostate Project.
Please join me in my journey by contributing whatever you can towards my target of £2,500. Together, we can help ensure more men receive life-saving treatment and hope for a brighter future.
