Miles for Mikeysline

Mikeysline is a mental health charity covering the Highlands, Islands and Moray, supporting those in emotional distress. Born in 2015 after the tragic loss of two close friends, the charity strives to support all ages and genders dealing with crisis through text, online and face-to-face.

Story

Albyn Housing Society are a Highland based housing association who are working closely to support Mikeysline to share the work they do and help reach as many people as possible within our communities.

A team of Albyn staff have signed up to raise funds for Mikeysline by challenging ourselves to walk, run, cycle or swim (or anything else) as many miles as we commit to during the month of May. Each team member will pledge their own goal and we will support and encourage each other to get out and meet these goals.

We would really appreciate any donation you are able to make to help us reach our target and support Mikeysline.

At Mikeysline, our ultimate aim is suicide prevention. We were established in 2015 following the suicides of two close friends within days of each other, Mikey Williamson and Martin Shaw, both aged 23. Our textline service was set up to provide an anonymous, safe, confidential way to access peer support, a listening ear from someone who understands what that person may be feeling, having their own lived experience of mental health issues. We also offer 1:1 support by appointment. Please visit www.mikeysline.co.uk/appointments to book.
