In memory of Veronica Cunningham

Rick Cunningham is raising money for Pancreatic Cancer UK
In memory of Veronica Cunningham
It’s unacceptable that more than half of people diagnosed with the deadliest common cancer die within three months. That’s why they need and deserve more. More research, more funding, more breakthroughs. More than hope. Together we’ll make that possible.

Story

In Loving Memory of Veronica: 94 Mountains in 94 Days

94 days.

That is exactly how much time passed between the moment my beautiful wife and best pal Veron, was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and the devastating day she passed away. In the blink of an eye, our world as a family was torn apart.

Pancreatic cancer is a silent, aggressive, and utterly ruthless disease. For so many families like mine, there is no time to process, no time to prepare, and tragically, not enough time to say goodbye.

To mark one year since losing Veronica, I am turning my grief into action. I want to honour her memory, but I also want to shine a harsh, necessary light on just how deadly this disease is. We desperately need more awareness, earlier diagnoses, and better treatments so that other families are spared this heartbreak.

The Challenge: 94 Munros in 94 Days

To symbolize the fleeting 94 days Veronica had left after her diagnosis, I am going to climb 94 of Scotland’s Munro mountains in 94 days.

Every single step up those peaks will be for her. Every steep incline, every rainy morning, and every summit will be a tribute to her strength and a reminder of the time that was so cruelly stolen from her. It will be a gruelling physical and emotional test, but it pales in comparison to the battle Veronica fought.

I start the challenge on 13th July (our Anniversary) and complete by 21st Oct (Veron’s birthday).

How You Can Help

I am taking on these mountains to raise vital funds, but more importantly, to raise awareness.

• Donate if you can: Every penny raised goes directly toward fighting pancreatic cancer, funding research, and supporting affected families.

• Share this page: Even if you cannot donate, sharing this post helps spread the word about the stark reality of pancreatic cancer.

Veronica, I miss you every single day. This is for you

Thank you so much for your kindness, your generosity, and for helping me keep Veronica’s memory alive while fighting for a future where pancreatic cancer no longer steals our loved ones so quickly.
