MillFest's fundraiser for Stroke Association

Liv Ashburn is raising money for Stroke Association

Village Festival · 30 August 2026

Every day in the UK, another 240 people wake up to the catastrophic impact of a stroke. The Stroke Association is the leading charity in the UK providing lifelong support for all stroke survivors and their families.

Story

As the second year of MillFest rolls around, this year we want to raise money for a cause very close to Riding Mill Cricket Clubs heart, and many others.

In December 2024, our chairman and local legend Peter Nitsch (aka Geordie Boy) passed away due to a catastrophic stroke. Peter was well known in the cricket club, the village and the surrounding areas and loved by all who met him. We want to donate some proceeds from this years festival to Stroke association UK. This charity offers information on stroke prevention, recognition of stroke symptoms, and recovery strategies, helping to raise awareness and educate the public about strokes. They also support those who have had Strokes, and the people around them.

MillFest is all about community and supporting one another, so if you can donate anything (no matter how small!) to this incredible cause we would be extremely grateful.
