Climbing a mountain for tyler

WISHH stands for Working Independently to Support Hull Hospitals. We fundraise to complement and enrich the services and facilities at Hull Royal Infirmary and Castle Hill Hospitals, over and above what can be achieved by the NHS alone, for the benefit and comfort of patients and their loved ones.

Story

Climbing a Mountain for Tyler 💙

My name is Millie, I’m 19 years old, and I’m raising money for Teenage Cancer Trust alongside my friend Macy, as we take on the challenge of climbing a mountain in honour of my big brother, Tyler.

Tyler is just 20 years old.

For the last two and a half years, I have watched my brother fight terminal cancer. At an age when he should be worrying about the normal things a 20 year old worries about, Tyler has instead had to face something that no young person should ever have to go through.

He has faced countless appointments, treatments, hospital stays and some incredibly difficult days. Despite everything he has been through, Tyler has continued to show an incredible amount of strength, courage and bravery.

He is my big brother, but he is also my best friend, and watching someone you love so deeply have to fight a battle like this is something I could never have imagined.

That is why my friend and I have decided to do something completely out of our comfort zones and climb a mountain for Tyler.

It is going to be tough, but that feels fitting. Tyler has had to climb his own mountain every single day for the last two and a half years, and we want to take on one of our own for him.

I love you bro. This is for you, with all the courage and strength you have driven into me. I’ll keep climbing for you, just like you’ve kept fighting for us.

I hope I can make you as proud of me as I am of you.

We are raising money for Teenage Cancer Trust, a charity that is incredibly important to us because of the support they provide to young people living with cancer and their families.

No young person should have to face cancer feeling alone. Teenage Cancer Trust helps make sure young people can still be young people while going through something as devastating as cancer, providing specialist support, spaces, connections and care.

Every donation, no matter how big or small, will go towards helping other young people and families who are facing the same kind of journey we have been living through.

If you are able to donate, share this page, or simply take a moment to read Tyler’s story, it would mean more to us than I could ever explain.

We are doing this for Tyler.

For his strength.

For his courage.

And for every young person who is still fighting.

Please help us turn something incredibly difficult into something that can make a difference to someone else. 💙

Thank you for supporting us and for helping us climb this mountain for Tyler.
